As a precaution, ESA temporarily ceases activities

ESA, a veal processor from Apeldoorn and part of the VanDrie Group, will temporarily cease their slaughter activities as a precaution starting from 22 April. The strict corona health monitoring that the company has been using for over a year now, has shown that there is a significant number of positively tested employees. During the past year, the crisis management has ensured that the company was able to keep producing while at the same time actively guaranteeing the good health of employees and third parties within ESA. Now that this is changing, ESA itself is taking drastic measures.

ESA has an important role to play within the food industry and at the same time, should guarantee the safety of their employees. Ceasing the slaughter activities is the only correct decision that can be made in this situation, according to the company. Today and tomorrow, further health checks will be carried out with all employees. There will also be an extensive cleaning and disinfecting session. Afterwards, with the help of external experts, an assessment will be created to find out how a safe and healthy working environment can be created again. ESA is explicitly working with the authorities on this. The production from ESA is temporarily moved to sister companies.
